Product Overview
Description
Human Pancreatic Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HPanMEC) are specialized endothelial cells that line the microvasculature of the pancreas. The pancreas functions as both an endocrine gland and a digestive organ, secreting hormones and producing pancreatic juice to aid in digestion.
Pancreatic endocrine cells, known as pancreatic islets, produce vital hormones including glucagon, insulin, amylin, and somatostatin. To support these islets, the pancreas is a highly vascularized organ in which endothelial cells play a critical role.
