Product Overview
Description
Neo-Poly-D-Lysine™ Coated 6-Well Plate is a ready-to-use, PDL-coated clear polystyrene culture plate engineered to enhance attachment of adherent cells to the culture surface. Poly-D-Lysine is a synthetic homopolymer of the D-enantiomer of lysine. At physiological pH, protonated epsilon-amino groups confer a net positive charge that can increase electrostatic interaction with negatively charged groups on cell membranes and culture surfaces, thereby promoting initial cell adhesion. Because the polymer is composed of D-amino-acid residues, it is generally less susceptible than L-polypeptides to degradation by many common proteases, which can help maintain an adhesion-promoting surface during extended culture.
The coating material used for this product family has a molecular-weight range of 70,000-150,000 Da. Molecular weight influences polymer chain length, solution viscosity, and the number of potential ionic interaction sites per polymer molecule; the selected range is intended to provide robust surface coverage while remaining practical for controlled coating manufacture.
The finished plate is supplied pre-coated and does not require user reconstitution of bulk Poly-D-Lysine. Before cell seeding, rinse the coated wells once with sterile 1X culture medium or PBS and aspirate gently without scraping the treated surface.
